This moment in #FckItFriday history celebrates poet and Cincinnati native Priscilla Jane Thompson, whose work would lead to vast movements such as the Harlem Renaissance. Thompson’s parents were slaves and their stories with those of other local blacks would inspire her passionate verses about slavery and post-slavery injustice.
