Join the Civic Garden Center for fun and informative seed saving workshop! Learn how to harvest, clean and store seeds from many of your favorite garden vegetables including tomatoes, peppers, melons, squash, beans and more! This lecture will include live demonstrations on many techniques as well as hands on learning opportunities for those in attendance. Ben will also be signing copies of his book, From Our Seeds and Their Keepers, after the workshop.

Ben Cohen is an author, herbalist, gardener, seed saver and wanderer. He is also the founder of Michigan Seed Library, a community seed sharing initiative that has worked to establish nearly seventy seed library programs. Ben offers workshops and lectures across the country on the benefits of living closer to the land through seeds, herbs and locally grown food. He finds himself at home wherever his hands are in the soil, sowing the seeds of yesterday to reap the bountiful harvest of tomorrow.
