Community Conversation: Race, Education & Social Realities

  • National Underground Railroad Freedom Center (map)

Join the Freedom Center for a meaningful conversation in celebration of Black History Month.

With the backdrop of the 2019 Black History theme "Black Migrations", which emphasizes the movement of people of African descent to new destinations and subsequently to new social realities, the intentions of this intergenerational conversation is to explore race, education and social realities in the 21st century.

The thought-leaders for this conversation include Dr. Littisha Bates, a brilliant scholar with the Department of Africana Studies at the University of Cincinnati; Dr. Monique C. Johnson, Founder of Dr. MCJ Consulting, LLC; Greg A. Jones, M.Ed., a Cincinnati Public School Teacher and Youth Advocate; and Alexia H. Otchere, a junior at Cincinnati Country Day School.
