Check Out a Who’s Who of Local Musicians Doing Covers of Your Favorite Songs AND Help Your Cincinnati Neighbors Eat?!

You can do BOTH on Sunday, December 16, at The Woodward Theater at the TOSSED SALAD II: BAND MASHUP COMPETITION, a musical fundraiser for the Freestore Foodbank

Doors at 6:30pm, show at 7:30pm.
ADMISSION: $10 DOS at the door, or online at https://www.cincyticket.com/tossedsalad

CAN'T ATTEND THE EVENT BUT STILL WANT TO CONTRIBUTE? Just buy a ticket online at the above link! All ticket proceeds go to the Freestore! Last year, we raised over $800...let's DOUBLE that this year! Just one dollar allows the Freestore to provide three meals to our Cincinnati neighbors in need.

This year's event will be co-hosted by Mike Stankovich (musician, DJ, and proprietor of Longfellow Cincinnati) and Cincinnati poetry scene goddess Kim DuWaup Bolden (Cincinnati Poetry Slam). Tossed Salad musicians include members of Marjorie Lee and the Lovers, Lipstick Fiction, Old City, Static Falls, Hateflirt, The Perfect Children, Molly Sullivan, Saturn Batteries, Abiyah, Sylmar, Jess Lamb and the Factory, Ohio Knife, Halvsies, Fourth Wife, Stella, IN2ITIV3, Up+Dn, Dynamite Thunderpunch, Mardou, Nature Was Here, MADQUEEN, Newport Secret Six, and more! Our illustrious judges for the evening are Dana Hamblen (Darlene/Fairmount Girls /Culture Queer), MayaLou Banatwala (Heavy Hinges), Tracy Walker (Tracy Walker), and local music fan extraordinaire Jilly Gibboney (who also designed this year's updated Tossed Salad graphics!).

WHAT IS TOSSED SALAD?
It’s like “band in a hat”, with a twist for charity (Freestore Foodbank). Musicians submitted their name and instrument(s) on an event page back in late October. They were then randomly drawn at an event in early November to form a mashup band. Three songs were drawn for each band, from which they’d eventually select two to perform on the 16th.

Mashup bands have had almost a month and a half to learn the songs – and are free to perform them in any style. For example, a band gets the song “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and choose to play it as Ronnie James Dio, or a Deftones song, which they perform VH1 style -- on stools. Bands are encouraged to have fun with the band names, costumes and styles. A panel of judges will award a custom handcrafted award for BEST BAND.

ALL PROCEEDS GO DIRECTLY TO FREESTORE FOODBANK. You can also make a direct monetary donation to the Freestore at http://freestorefoodbank.org/. Just a $1 donation will provide THREE meals to a fellow Cincinnatian.

RSVP to this event to stay updated on event details, as well as additional special guest performances!
